Yes, this is it exactly! I got tired of being the only one fighting for the relationship. I was snarked at one too many times (and once by someone I Never expected to snark me!).
I’m trying to do it without rancor – for myself since the ones who’ve been let go don’t care, they probably don’t even know – but I am still struggling with the guilt of deciding that the letting go had to happen.
Ah well, as my favorite heroine says: “Tomorrow is another day.”

Oh my, how this made me smile when I found it on FB.
The irony is that those in my family who (were they to be honest with themselves, if nobody else) would recognize themselves in this quote (as I actually know some of them should), are most probably not reading me anymore – if they ever did.

My family changed the time of my Grandmother’s unveiling ceremony today and did not tell me about the different time, so I missed it. That is something that can never be done over. So this is what it feels like to lose one’s family.
