Quotes that Speak to Me

be there

Indeed.  Dear Hubby, How Dost Thou Love Me?  Let Me Count The Ways.  It is in the way, when I need to talk, you give me your presence, both physical and emotional, being truly present with me, even if only for just a few minutes.  It is that being, not fixing, just sharing, that makes me feel heard, valued, loved, and I thank you for it.

don't chase

Consider yourself warned – and please see Will Smith quote below.  You can blame the cancer (I do, or thank it, not sure yet) and/or call me a bitch – that won’t make it any less true.

hard to handle

The first part is me . . . the last line is Hubby – that’s how I know he loves me.

Um, yep.  It can take some men a long time to learn we women don’t want them to fix us, we just want them to stay by our side (as back-up, like – and company) while we fight our battles.  If your man hasn’t figured this one out, maybe this is the way he needs to hear it for it to make sense.  Mine’s already gotten here, but some good-hearted men still haven’t heard it in the right way for them to take it in yet.

I, unfortunately, and sadly, feel this way about a rare few people in my life.  I wish I didn’t, but wishing it weren’t so, doesn’t change that it is.

“It’s easy to take off all your clothes and have sex.
People do it all the time.
But opening up your soul to someone,
Letting them into your spirit, thoughts, fears,
future, hopes, dreams ….
That’s being naked …. ♥ ~”

Similar to the quote/graphic below, but not quite the same – this is more general, and so true about me.
I’ve long ago realized, accepted and admitted out loud, that, even without something like cancer hanging over my head, I’m not the easiest person to get along with all the time … but ultimately I think I’m worth it!

This is so true!  I hope people in my life land in this spot on this page.  It might help them understand what may happen sometime next year when that ‘new normal’ kicks in, and some of them may stop hearing from me.
